Quarterly highlights
Listening to your experiences
- 325 people shared their experiences of health or social care services with us this quarter.
- We helped 238 people through our contact centre to share feedback, raise concerns or find advice.
- 106 complaints or serious concerns were escalated or referred to the appropriate organisations for action.
Community engagement
- We met local people through library drop-ins, hospital sessions and community events across Devon and Plymouth.
- Almost 10,000 people visited our website for information and support.
- Over 2,000 people read our news, reports and updates online.
What people told us
- Hospital services were the most discussed area of feedback this quarter.
- The most common themes raised were access to services, treatment and care, and communication, reflecting ongoing pressures across the system.
Featured reports and impact
During the quarter we published several reports shaped directly by people’s lived experiences, including:
- Living with Multiple Sclerosis in Devon and Torbay, highlighting delays, inconsistent care and communication issues, with clear recommendations shared with system partners.
- Patient Experience of Using the Royal Eye Infirmary, which informed commitments from University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust to improve accessibility, communication and support for visually impaired patients.
- Reasonable Adjustments in Torbay, focusing on how adjustments are identified and delivered for people with disabilities, supporting learning and improvement across services.
- A lived experience walkthrough at North Devon District Hospital, providing practical insight to improve accessibility and inclusion.
National insight
We also contributed local intelligence to national work led by Healthwatch England, including research on GP referrals, urgent dental care, SEND, and NHS complaints, ensuring local voices help shape national debate and reform.
