NHS Devon asks local people to share views on neighbourhood health
Let’s Talk Neighbourhood Health is part of NHS Devon’s wider One Plan for Devon. It follows previous engagement on the NHS 10 Year Health Plan and is asking residents, patients, carers, staff and communities to share their experiences and priorities.
Neighbourhood health is a national approach which aims to bring services such as GPs, community healthcare, mental health, social care and voluntary organisations closer together around the needs of local people.
This engagement is not a consultation on a specific proposed service change. NHS Devon says it wants to understand what is working well, what could be improved and what matters most to different communities as neighbourhood health develops.
Complete the survey
The Neighbourhood Health Survey takes around 15 minutes and asks about people's experiences of health and care, what helps them stay well, access to services and how different services could work better together.
The survey is anonymous, with optional questions about you to help NHS Devon understand who it has heard from.
The survey closes on Friday 2 October 2026.

Attend an engagement day
NHS Devon is also holding five Neighbourhood Health Engagement Days:
- Friday 11 September – Plymouth Leadworks
- Wednesday 23 September – Tavistock Town Hall
- Friday 25 September – Paignton Library
- Monday 28 September – Exeter Community Centre
- Monday 19 October – Roundswell Community Centre, Barnstaple
The days include opportunities to discuss health and care with other local people, alongside a community marketplace where organisations can share information about local services and support.

Our role
Healthwatch in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay is independent of the NHS. We are supporting people to access this NHS Devon engagement – including supporting the engagement days and helping people who cannot complete the survey online.
NHS Devon is responsible for the engagement programme, its health and care plans and how the findings are used. Our role is not to make or defend NHS service decisions, but to help local people understand how they can take part and make sure there are accessible ways for them to have their say.
NHS Devon says the feedback gathered will help inform the development of neighbourhood health and local priorities. As the independent local Healthwatch, we will continue to encourage clear feedback about what people have said and how their views have been considered.
